There are all sorts of pictures in the first album of Kenneth and Ruthe with various friends from College of Emporia and other places. I don't know most of them, of course, but I've been learning more about them.

This picture is exciting for me. I was contacted last fall by Dianne Howard, who has family in Atchison,Kansas, because she recognized the name Gladys Cooper. So, she sent me some pictures -- like the one above -- of her aunts with my aunts. This one (as you can see from the bottom caption) is from 1931 and shows Dorothy and Gladys Cooper with Dianne's great aunt Ruth Hanson.

I've always had this notion that I'm from a fairly small family -- which is sort of true. I'm one of two children and I have only one first cousin. However, when you start to extend beyond the immediate family, the family is actually pretty large, as you can see from this particular reunion in Emporia, Kansas.
